The hook of this app was the ability to create your own quizzes on the device and also download other people quizzes FOR FREE.
This baffled everyone I talked to about it. Surely you would make more money by having people purchase quizzes for an additional fee they said, and they would be right ‘only if it is a huge success’. In the beginning I opted to make a great game with lasting appeal and the only way to add true value was to offer the quizzes created by other people for free.
Now ‘In-app’ purchasing is available it could be something we look at in the future but we would need to wait until Quizicards has been updated a few more times with extra features, game types and modes.
So now my secret is out… There are hundreds of quiz apps on the app store which all ask for 59p all the way to £2.99 and most only have one subject or 1 set of question. With Quizicards you can be quizzed on anything!
It’s been a while since my last update due to us being knee deep in development and QA testing and now we see the light at the end of the tunnel I decided to update the website and prepare for launch.
To aid the launch preparation we created a small game called ‘The Danger Room’ to see how the submitting and promotion side works. The Danger Room is a simple top down retro shooter with on screen joysticks where you player a convict fighting for his survival in a futuristic game show. The game has 12 levels and plays alot like ‘Smash TV’.
You can download it here:
From this we learned alot about the time apple takes to approve apps, general sales figures, promo codes and this will hopefully prepare us for when quizicards is finally released…
Which should be very soon…
