Development Blog – Part 1

Welcome to the story behind the quizicards phenomenon ‘as it happens’

Here I hope to talk about the design and development that has gone into the game.  The timings are a couple of weeks behind but it will give you an idea of what has gone on before.

The Idea

The idea has been milling about in my head for some time along with various other app ideas.  Having ‘real’ work to do I had to focus my attentions until I was speaking to an offshore development agency on the phone and they were telling me how they do iphone apps.  I don’t usually pay much attention to these calls but I was intrigued at the costs for development.  As it turns out the costs were extremely high.

But the Idea was a sound one, I had watched the ‘Friends’ episodes where the group quiz each other, one was the ‘Wicked Wango’ episode where Joey is trying to get a presenters job for a crazy new quiz show and has to quizmaster for Chandler and Ross; the other was when they compete for the rights to Monica’s flat and they quiz eachother on their knowledge of each other.

This seems like fun and I thought it would great for parties, dinner parties, pub quizzes, but I would have to research it…
